Russia-based Bitblaze, a company specializing in servers, workstations, and storage systems, has pre-produced a Bitblaze Titan BM15 laptop.
This is a purely Russian laptop with the processor “Baikal-M1”. The target of this new laptop is the Russian government and the corporate sector. The Bitblaze Titan BM15 is also targeted at the enthusiast market and will start shipping before November 2022. According to BitBlaze owner Yana Brush, a Bitblaze Titan laptop based on the Baikal-M1 processor is ready.
Brush also tested some office programs and YouTube, where the laptop battery was able to last 5 hours. Brush also claims that the laptop performed well during testing. However, the company says it will continue to test it with a variety of workloads in preparation for the official release.
Currently, the specifications of the machine are available on the official website of the manufacturer Bitblaze. The Bitblaze Titan BM15 laptop has a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display. The device also comes with 16GB of RAM and supports up to 128GB of DDR4 memory. The device supports 250GB to 512GB M.2 SSDs. In addition, the Bitblaze Titan BM15 also supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. In terms of connectivity, the product comes with a USB-C 3.0 port, HDMI, 4 USB-A ports, RJ-45 and an audio jack. Inside the machine has a 6,000 mAh battery but it is not clear which version of Linux the system uses.
Yana Brush also confirmed that this computer uses an ultra-thin aluminum case. The company claims that the device is very light in weight. According to 3DNews, the computer weighs 2.2 kg. Wccftech reports that the Bitblaze Titan BM15 uses an 8-core ARM architecture and a Russian-made "Baikal-M1" processor with a main clock speed of 1.5 GHz manufactured using TSMC's 28nm process.
However, TSMC no longer supplies chips to Russia. It is unclear how many chips Bitblaze purchased before TSMC canceled the supply, so it is uncertain whether the machine will eventually go into mass production.
